Back to School
Welcome back! We are so excited to have you all as HCCA families! This season of fall brings a lot of excitement and new schedules and routines to go along with it. As you enter the new school year, my prayer is that you will make Jesus the center of it all. He brings a change to our hearts that we didn’t even know we needed. Give Him liberty to make that change and to grow you to your full potential. Ecclesiastes tells us that there is a season for everything. What fun things are you planning in the new fall season? Outdoor hikes, pumpkin patches, fall baking, packing up to do school at the park are always some of my favorite fall activities. Make the most of the beautiful season of the “ber” months.

2026/2027 SCHOOL YEAR ENROLLMENT
Late enrollment for the 2026/2027 school year will begin October 1, 2026. You must first become a member of HCHE to begin the enrollment process for HCCA. Please review the HCCA “How to…” booklet which details how to enroll in HCCA. We also recommend families read the HCCA Handbook as changes are made each year.
Important to know
As many of you have heard, the Colorado Governor signed a new spending bill (SB26-023) into law. First, it is important to know that this is a spending bill - it does not affect or change Colorado homeschool law in any way. It also does not affect the ability of homeschool students to participate in extra-curricular activities, such as sports, in public/private schools.

Technically, HCCA is an umbrella school with the added benefit of being a non-public school as well. HCCA is not a traditional brick and mortar school with teachers and classes, which is why we are considered an umbrella school.
Currently, we are recommending families communicate with the specific homeschool enrichment program they wish to participate in and find out if they are willing to let students be enrolled in an umbrella school - HCCA - and participate in their program. We believe communicating with the local programs is the best way to ensure everyone is in compliance with Colorado homeschool law. In the past, participation for HCCA students has not been an issue, but now we do not know if this will be the case since it will be up to the individual programs to decide. If the program allows the student to be enrolled in HCCA and participate, they most likely will ask you to fill out a Notice of Intent to homeschool (NOI) to ensure they receive government funding for your student. If this is the case, you can state on the NOI that your student's test scores/evaluations will stored in the HCCA repository (which is your Documents tab if you are enrolled in HCCA). If the enrichment program does not allow enrollment with HCCA and participation in their program, then you will need to fill out an NOI and not enroll in HCCA. You will be able to list HCCA as your test/evaluation repository if you choose.
HCHE has been informed that changes can still occur, so we encourage you to periodically check the above listed website.
