Enrollment for the 2026/2027 school year is open. When enrollment is available, you will log into your HCHE Member Portal, click on the NEWS section at the top of the dashboard, then click on “Academy Enrollment.”
Can I enroll in HCCA and participate in other programs since the passage of CO SB 26-023?
HCCA is an umbrella school with the added benefit of being a non-public school as well. HCCA is not a traditional brick and mortar school with teachers and classes, which is why we are technically considered an umbrella school.
Currently, we are recommending families communicate with the specific homeschool enrichment program they wish to participate in and find out if they are willing to let students be enrolled in an umbrella school - HCCA - and participate in their program. We believe communicating with the local programs is the best way to ensure everyone is in compliance with Colorado homeschool law. In the past, participation for HCCA students has not been an issue, but now we do not know if this will be the case since it will be up to the individual programs to decide.
What is Required for Enrollment?
ENROLLMENT for the 2026/2027 SCHOOL YEAR is open. Important: enrollment in HCCA is unrelated to High Country Enrichment Classes.

All families must be current members of HCHE to enroll in HCCA. Please note that families are NOT automatically enrolled in HCCA. Enrollment in HCCA is a separate process.

Returning and NEW families may now enroll for the 2026/2027 school year, after joining High Country Home Educators HERE.
After becoming a member of HCHE, you may enroll in HCCA by logging in to your HCHE account and clicking on the light blue “NEWS” area near the top of your family dashboard. Then simply click on the Academy option.
All forms are filled out, and all payments are made securely online. When you enroll, you will be asked for the information listed below. You will not be enrolled until all steps are completed and approved by HCCA.
Sign a parental agreement (e-signature). Click HERE to read the sample agreement.
An annual curriculum plan. Parents choose and provide the curriculum for their students.
Standardized test or evaluation from the odd grades (3, 5, 7, 9, & 11)
Payment of enrollment and any other applicable fees
Previous school transcript if new to HCCA
DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR PARENTS WILL ALSO:
Submit quarterly reports of attendance, material covered, and grades achieved at the end of each semester
Submit end-of-year Semester and Final grades and credit earned for high school students only

We receive enrollments from July 15th through February 29th annually.

High School Records Transfer Fee ($50/year, grades 10-12)*
*High School students in grades 10, 11, and 12, enrolling in HCCA for the first time will be charged a processing fee of $50 per year that they need to transfer onto the HCCA transcript. For example, an 12th grade student enrolling in HCCA for the first time will be assessed $50 for 9th grade, $50 for 10th grade, and $50 for 11th grade to transfer curriculum information and credits over to HCCA. This allows for a full accounting of high school credits and grades needed for a diploma and transcript.
Are you transferring to HCCA from a public or private school?
Complete a School Withdrawal Notice and turn it into the school from which you are withdrawing.Complete a Release of Records form to request school records from a previous public or private school be sent to HCCA.
